
Women whose hair never gets wet convene
like broken shells do
at the edge of waves
They assemble in beach chairs
like ancestors sat around campfires
in a quest for news
They gather gossip
like seagulls collect clams
to drop on sharp rocks
Fran Abrams lives in Rockville, MD. Her poems have been published in numerous journals and anthologies.
