[Poetry] Heart’s Tears by Julie Romano

And she asked herself “how can I help my Mother?” She sees her oceans wrapped in plastic, her forests disrespected and her Spirit shut down. So she rests. To remember, to honor, to listen to Her wisdom. She lays on the warm rocks and she let her body merge with water. And she knows, in that moment, that her healing is hers Mother’s. She feels, with all her heart, the deep interconnectedness. In her blood tears, a devotion, a mystical hope, that will be carried away in the Waters.

Julie Romano’s art dwells in the devotion of her soul. She likes to ignite a deeper capacity to feel. Capturing grace, using light as a catalyst for reflection, and somatic transformation. She is a versatile visual artist. Born in France, she graduated from a cinema school, where she studied documentary, fascinated by the beauty and storytelling of our daily lives. She is now based in Grass Valley, California, and was recently awarded for best photography at the Art show curated for wild scenic film festival 2024. Remembering our expressions and wisdom as earth-based humans is one of her core intentions as an artist. She is passionate about using technology (photography and videography) to unlock and see the depths of our interconnectedness with our environment, and with each other.
