[Poetry] In a Splash by O.P. Jha

In a splash I see some birds

flocking in the sky

carrying the soul of tides

rhymes of mariners – old and new alike

in their wings of fire

doing duet with hovering clouds

in a splash I see dreams

that the minstrels of sea saw

with their open eyes,

in a small drop I see bands

of conquerors trying to grab

everything between the Earth and the sky

in a splash I see the reflection of the moon

on the bosoms of surfing souls

with their semi-covered bodies

in a hilarious mood ready to bare

some stories hidden in the womb

of our half-asleep civilization

eager to unlock some poems

longing to breathe in the open air

in a splash I see one word story

impregnated with tears and smiles

of an odyssey – an epic

full of fears, dreams, aspirations

memories of time, space

and elements that we count

that an ocean carries in its current

in its heart

in a splash I see a lover bubbling

with a unique dream

leaving the glory of bubbles behind,

in bubbles I see rise and fall of man

pages of known histories

symphonies of unknown histories

in a splash I see a mother

suppressing personal pain for today

revealing an unbounded joy for tomorrow

with a beautiful world

with a possibility for a new child

in a splash I see a new captain

steering the steamer in a new direction

singing an unheard song

in the orchestra of dancing tides

in an abandoned splash I compose a dream

to be realized in the sips of time

to be broadcast on the foams of the flow

when tides will kiss the sandy shore

with a whispering love-lore.
