[Poetry] Two Poems by Jacob R. Moses

Cape of Good Hope

It is often said:

Water seeks its own level.

Let us both converge

Like two oceans off the coast

Of Cape Town, South Africa

Aspiration

One quarter dropped upon the ocean floor

Fused with three others, dollar is the sum

Compound of silver, subject of a war

Religion, opiate that leaves one numb

Arising are these dreams upon the sand

Aspiring to grow infinitely

Foursomes will form this journey to a grand

Picayune portions fund this litany

If within this wishing well I can spy

Specific purpose skipping between bricks

I’d hope that sense can surely multiply

Bonding of presidents grant us our fix

Good fortune in a puddle, let it grow

Dreams tossed into a cache from long ago
